Jade Rabbit Coloring Page · 玉兔填色画
The Jade Rabbit is the gentle companion of the moon goddess Chang'e, a beloved figure of Chinese folklore who pounds the elixir of immortality in the moon palace. According to legend, the rabbit was chosen for its selflessness: when an old man in need asked the animals for food, the rabbit offered its own body by leaping into the fire. Moved by this sacrifice, the man, who was the Jade Emperor in disguise, carried the rabbit to the moon to live forever. There, beneath the cassia tree and beside the round moon, the Jade Rabbit grinds herbs with its mortar and pestle, a quiet symbol of kindness, devotion, and the gentle glow of the Mid-Autumn festival.
Beloved folk tales and legends passed down through generations of Chinese culture.
